Blackwood Covered Bridge

The Adventure...

Built in 1881, the Blackwood Covered Bridge is a 64-foot Multiple Kingpost truss system with cut stone abutments. Spanning Shade Creek, the bridge is open for local vehicular traffic.

Getting there is Half the Adventure!

Blackwood Covered Bridge is located on Blackwood Road (County Road 44) near the Athens/Meigs County border. From US Route 33 turn onto Township Road 71 and then make a right onto Colburn Road. Bear left onto Blackwood Road. The covered bridge is a short distance down Blackwood Road.
