Jacob's Ladder Block Quilt Barn

Picture

The Adventure...

The Jacob's Ladder Block is a traditional quilt design. Although there is no hard documentation, folklore has it that quilts were hung in windows or clothes lines to guide slaves through the Underground Railroad. These stories have been passed from one gerneration to next. A quilt with the Jabcob's Ladder patter supposedly gave clues to the safe path to freedom. Mitch and Cathe Blower own and sponsored the project. The block pattern was painted by the Federal Hocking High School Art Class.
