The 12,000-acre Pike State Forest offers a wide range of recreation opportunities. One of the most popular attractions is the APV area. Here, 10 miles of trail which wind through the hollows and ridge tops is open to motorcycles and off road all-terrain vehicles. Visitors will be challenged by many of the trails as well as dazzled by some for the region’s most beautiful scenery and breathtaking views. The forest also offers 33 miles of bridle trails that wind through many peaceful sections of the forest. The bridle trails are open to hikers as well. The Buckeye Trail passes through Pike State Forest offering hikers a unique opportunity to explore the area’s flora and fauna. Numerous county and township roads meander throughout the park, presenting visitors with countless scenic drives. Finally, Pike State Forest is open to public hunting and fishing in season. Fishing is available at several ponds located throughout the forest. Anderson Lake off of Dry Bone Road is a popular spot that offers quiet seclusion among the hills and trees. Camping and cabins are available at the adjacent Pike Lake State Park along with more hiking trails, swimming, and several winter activities.

Pike State Forest is located in western Pike County near Morgantown and Latham. From State Route 124, turn onto Latham Hill Road or Morgan Fork to enter the forest. The Forest Headquarters is located off of State Route 124 near the junction of State Route 124 and County Road 6 / Lapparell Road.
