Robbins Crossing Living History Site
The Adventure...
Come to Robbins Crossing to be transported back to southeastern Ohio in the 19th century, where lace was handmade, meals were cooked over a woodburning stove, and the warmth of the blacksmith’s fire was never far away. Situated on the campus of Hocking College, this living history site is run by the college’s School of Natural Resources and is open Memorial Day through October. Robbins Crossing is also the last stop along the Hocking Valley Scenic Railway, so visitors can choose to arrive by train or car. Enjoy walking around the log cabins and barns while costumed interpreters describe what their lives are like during the frontier days of Ohio’s settlement. Watch barrel-making and chipcarving demonstrations at the Cooper Shop. Stop at the General Store to purchase handmade breadboards and pottery. When you visit Robbins Crossing with your entire family, you are sure to have both a memorable and educational experience.
