The Adventure...

Located in Nelsonville’s Historic Square Arts District, Stuart’s Opera House is one of the region’s premier theaters. It is dedicated to its role as a regional leader in the arts community, a center for public expression, and an economic development partner for Southeastern Ohio. Built in 1879, the theater was originally home to vaudeville, melodrama, and minstrel shows. Today, it has been lovingly restored to reflect its glory days and hosts over 75 local, national, and internationally acclaimed performances and events every year.

Getting There is Half the Adventure!

Stuart’s Opera House is located in Nelsonville’s historic Public Square. Take US Route 33 to Nelsonville. Turn onto Hocking Street at the Rocky Boots Outlet Store and proceed towards the Public Square. The Opera House will be on your left at 52 Public Square. Parking is available in front and on the sides.
