The Adventure...

Characterized by deep narrow valleys and dense woodlands, Tar Hollow State Forest is a 16,354-acre park that spans Vinton, Ross, and Hocking Counties. There are also 21 miles of backpacking trails, 25 miles of bridle trails, and 2.5 miles of mountain biking trails. Swimming, boating, and fishing are popular activities in and along the 15-acre Pine Lake. A variety of scenic drives are Wooded campsites are available along the lake. Seventy-one of these sites are equipped with electrical hookups, 11 are non-electric, and 12 are more primitive and secluded walk-in sites. Five primitive sites are located along the backpack trail. Bike and boat rentals and other items are available at the park's general store.
