The Morgan County Historical Museum
The Adventure...
The Morgan County Historical Museum showcases a wide range of artifacts and antiques from Morgan County. Some of the most popular items on display are original artwork by Howard Chandler Christy, including his famous “Christy Girls” which graced the covers of many popular magazines in the early 1900’s and artifacts of McDonald Birch, a Morgan County native who became a world-renowned magician. Visitors can also capture a glimpse of times-gone-by when they explore the Victorian furnishings, antique vintage clothing, antique household machines and appliances, farm machinery and other historic items. The museum is home to an extensive Civil War collection, as well as artifacts from the Mexican War, from the American Revolution, and World Wars I and II.
The museum is open to the public Fridays - 1 to 3 p.m. and Saturdays - 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
General Admission: $3.00 donation for adults, Youth (18 and younger) free
